How It Works?
For example, let's consider Austria as your home country. An e-commerce store looking to source foreign books can easily have them delivered to their fulfillment hub in Vienna.
Foreign books refer to titles published outside Austria. The Search API provides a list of available books, and the bookstore continuously places orders through the API.
Books sourced from various shipping countries are packed and boxed for delivery to Vienna.
Submit your 4x6 thermal shipping label, and we'll label the package for you. Delivery frequency can be adjusted based on your order volume.
We are a family-owned business with over 50 years of book selling experience. Our well-established processes and systems have been refined over the years and are now accessible through our APIs.
With an existing presence in five major markets, we continue to expand into new countries and partner with more publishers each year.
Questions & Answers
Check if your question is answered below. If not, feel free to Contact us.
1. Why is this service invite-only?
This is a trade service where we choose to partner with bookstores in undeserved countries. Our partners can be established stores or new startups.
2. How can we use the search results?
The search results provide pricing and availability information, along with other identification details. This is not a metadata service; you are expected to build your own catalog. Search result metadata is not intended for storage.
3. Do you monitor usage?
Yes, we monitor both usage and sales patterns. Typically, sales and usage are correlated. If discrepancies arise, we work to identify and resolve the underlying issues.
4. How is pricing determined?
We collaborate with you to set our selling prices, which can be in USD or your local currency. You can then add your markup before presenting the final prices to your customers. Depending on your location, our nearest office will handle shipping, invoicing, and other logistics.
5. Is it necessary to have the books pre-packed?
We highly recommend individual packing to ensure the books remain secure during transit. It also reduces the need for extra packing materials that are often discarded.
6. I already work with some vendors. Can I continue with them?
Absolutely! You can continue working with your current vendors while comparing our services over a few months. It’s not necessary to source all foreign books through us. The usage and sales data will guide the best approach moving forward.
7. Why do you work with only one or two customers per country?
We aim to maintain high volumes with a select few stores to achieve economies of scale. This approach also prevents business advantages from being diluted among too many customers. If the market justifies it, we may expand our service to more customers with mutual agreement.
8. Are you a technology company?
No, we are a bookstore. While we embrace new technologies and have self-developed systems, our focus remains on book selling. We are self funded, so our priority is doing what's best for the book trade, not meeting investor targets.
9. What if I find an error in the catalog?
Simply submit a ticket, and we'll address it promptly.
10. Do you deal in used copies?
No, we only deal in new copies.
